Dr. Richard Katz graduated from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, completed his residency in Anesthesiology at University of California Los Angeles (UCLA)., with his Pediatric subspecialty training both at UCLA and Cedars Sinai Medical Center. He is board certified in Anesthesiology. Dr. Katz has been in private practice for more than 30 years, has taken care of thousands of patients and has held many department chairman and executive positions with Associated Anesthesiologists Medical Group, Medical Anesthesia Consultants, Sheridan Anesthesia Service and Envision Physician Services. While at Envision, he served as a Regional Medical Director of Anesthesia for California , where he oversaw and helped develop the anesthesia practice at over 15 hospitals and 30 surgery centers. Dr. Katz was also an Adjunct Clinical Instructor at Stanford and is a General Anesthesia Evaluator for the Dental Board of California. He co-founded Bay Area Mobile Anesthesia with Dr. Vu Huynh in 2011. After 30 years as a hospital-based Anesthesiologist, Dr. Katz now exclusively works with BAMA seeing only dental patients. He also does consulting work for medical practices, dental practices and surgical facilities. When not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, hiking the hills and road trips in the Western US.
