Dr. Smitha Kanaparthy graduated from the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) in Puducherry, India. completed a residency in anesthesiology and critical care at JIPMER. she worked at very well-known tertiary care centers in India. She came to the US in 2008 and completed her residency in anesthesiology at Hahnemann University Hospital, Drexel University, Philadelphia pediatric anesthesiology fellowship at the Oklahoma University Health Sciences Center. Her work experience after fellowship spanned academic centers at OUHSC and Yale University and a private practice group at Valley Children’s Hospital, Fresno. She is board-certified in anesthesiology and pediatric anesthesiology. She has over ten years of experience exclusively as a pediatric anesthesiologist. Her areas of interest are pediatric difficult airways, anesthesia in non-OR settings, and resident education. She believes in lifelong learning and the integral role of physicians in clinical care and leadership. has completed a faculty leadership program at OUHSC and programs with the Yale School of Business—Health Care Management and Women’s Leadership at Oxford School of Business. She enjoys providing much-needed, safe, and evidence-based care to pediatric patients for dental care in office-based settings. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter. They enjoy traveling and exploring beautiful California.
