Dr. Susan Cheng graduated from Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, and then completed a residency in Anesthesiology at Massachusetts General Hospital. She later completed a fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology at Boston Children’s Hospital. Dr. Cheng is board certified in Anesthesiology and Pediatric Anesthesiology. She served as the Director of Pediatric Anesthesia at Maimonides Medical Center in New York before moving to California. Since being in the Bay Area, she has been practicing for over 25 years at UCSF Children’s Hospital Oakland and served as the co-director of the pediatric acute pain service for many years. Dr. Cheng continues to provide anesthesia for pediatric patients in many settings including hospital, surgery center and dental office. She has two grown children and enjoys playing tennis in her spare time.
